This is an exciting time for the young people of Wales. A new Curriculum for Wales is planned which will enthuse learners from 3 to 16, giving them the foundation needed to succeed in a changing world. 

Y 4 Diben / Four Purpose

Y pedwar diben yw’r man cychwyn a’r dyhead ar gyfer  ein cynllun cwricwlwm ein Ffederasiwn. Nod ein ffederasiwn yw cefnogi ein dysgwyr i ddod :

• yn ddysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog, sy’n barod i ddysgu drwy gydol eu hoes

• yn gyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol, yn barod i chwarae rhan lawn mewn bywyd a gwaith

• dinasyddion egwyddorol, gwybodus Cymru a'r byd

• unigolion iach, hyderus, sy’n barod i fyw bywydau boddhaus fel aelodau gwerthfawr o gymdeithas

The four purposes are the starting point and aspiration for our federation curriculum design. Our federation aims to support our learners to become:

• ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives

• enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work

• ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world

• healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society

Rhaid i’r chwe maes dysgu a phrofiad canlynol gael eu hadlewyrchu mewn cwricwlwm a fabwysiedir.

• Y Celfyddydau Mynegiannol.

• Iechyd a Lles.

• Y Dyniaethau.

• Ieithoedd, Llythrennedd a Chyfathrebu.

• Mathemateg a Rhifedd.

• Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg.

Bydd sgiliau Llythrennedd, Rhifedd a Chymhwysedd digidol yn cael eu haddysgu ar draws pob Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad.

Elfennau gorfodol cwricwlwm

Yn ogystal a’r uchod, bydd y canlynol yn elfennau gorfodol o gwricwlwm.

• Addysg cydberthynas a rhywioldeb.

The areas of learning and experience

The following six areas of learning and experience must be reflected in an adopted curriculum.

• Expressive Arts.

• Health and Well Being.

• The Humanities.

• Languages, Literacy and Communication.

• Mathematics and Numeracy.

• Science and Technology.

Digital Literacy, Numeracy and Competency skills will be taught across all Areas of Learning and Experience.

Compulsory elements of the curriculum

In addition to the above, the following will be mandatory elements of a curriculum.

• Religion, values and ethics

• Relationships and sexuality education.

• Welsh.

• English.
